The Best Blueberry Protein Smoothie Recipe!

Happy New Year! I suppose we are already about three weeks into the year, where did that time go?! I seem to be asking myself that a lot these days, ever since our sweet little boy turned T H R E E last week. I can’t help but think about the night we brought him home from the hospital and how it cannot be possible for 3 whole years to have already gone by. As cliche as it sounds, the days are long, but the years truly are short!

Anyway! I figured now would be a good time to do a resolution check-in with everyone. Did you create a New Years resolution? Have you stuck to it? Are you starting to slack a bit? I always start off strong, then begin to slack off as the year goes on. Let’s try to prevent that from happening this year, okay?!

I know a lot of people, myself included, chose to start going to the gym, eating healthier, being more active, etc. as their resolution, so I thought that it would be a great time to re-share my smoothie recipe!

Note: I use only frozen fruit for this recipe so that I don’t have to add any ice to it (I hate ordering smoothies from places and basically drinking a slushy with some fruit added). I use blueberries and mangoes for this recipe, but feel free to replace those with any fruit you’d prefer, or feel free to add other fruit such as banana or strawberries! Just remember to add more milk/water (usually equal parts fruit and milk/water). Also, if the blender doesn’t seem to be blending, or seems stuck, shake around the ingredients and try again. If it still seems too thick, add a splash of water or milk. The blender I am linking is the same one that I have, but the new and improved model!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen mangoes

1/2 cup of any milk (I use vanilla oat milk)

1/2 cup of water

2 tbsp almond flour

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder – I use this one and love it!

a small handful of spinach (optional)

Add all of the above ingredients (or the substitutes you chose) to your blender, I use and love this one, and mix! Pour into a glass (or if you are using the blender I have, switch out the lid) and enjoy!
